Lindsay, a previous inmate herself, had visited her friend to pass drugs to her. Carolyn says she wasn’t a dealer and it was a one time thing, they were to help Carolyn with pain relief because she is suffering from cancer.<br /><br />Lindsay’s only been out of prison for a month and according to Carolyn was struggling to deal with life on the outside. She had lost her job after a former client had caused a scene at work and she was struggling to reconnect with her children.<br /><br />Lindsay’s son Ryan might be following in his mother’s footsteps. He’s been stealing and giving the stuff to other kids. According to Lindsay’s elder son Mason, Ryan’s problems were down to Lindsay leaving when he was so young.<br /><br />Later the team discovers that Lindsay had met up with her former business partner, Richard, following the car crash and he had driven her to meet with her brother in law, Jake, with whom she has a volatile relationship. Jake still blames Lindsay for the death of his brother.<br /><br />Jack interviews the brother in law, who admits to previously threatening and hurting Lindsay earlier in the week, but denies being involved in her disappearance.<br /><br />It appears that Jack, Danny, Samantha, Martin and Elena are working on the case. Montgomery announced in June that she and boyfriend Adam Kaufman were expecting their first child in December. On a visit to a Trace location shoot in New York City earlier this week, TV Guide confirmed that Montgomery's character, FBI agent Sam Spade, will also be expecting. But who is Sam's babydaddy? Sam has had affairs with both boss Jack Malone and fellow agent Martin Fitzgerald, but could the father be someone else?<br /><br />Montgomery knows the answer, but won't give it away. "I have to bite my tongue because I'm busting to tell everybody," she says. "There are a number of people in the mix. I think it'll be quite surprising."<br /><br />Montgomery does reveal that Sam struggles with her choice of profession because she's carrying a child. "Every time she goes to work, she's potentially at risk for being killed. Marsters, who is best known for portraying Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has been guesting on various TV series and acting in movies in the past years. Most notably, Marsters has impersonated Professor Milton Fine, also known as Brainiac, in a few episodes of The CW's Smallville.<br /><br />Slight Without a Trace spoilers after the jump!<br /><br />On Without a Trace, Marsters is set to play Detective Mars (not related to Veronica Mars). The character is described on the actor's site as an "attractive in a real way, a bright full-of-life personality, charming, possibly from around the Washington DC area, so could have a slight southern accent, [man]. Mars is a police detective who has started to investigate what seems to be a ring of human trafficking. He has information our FBI team is interested in and comes to New York to speak to Vivian about what he knows. Eventually he will become part of a task force to deal with human trafficking."<br /><br />The role is said to be recurring. No, not Kristen Bell. Or Enrico Colantoni, for that matter. Trace is adding a character named Detective Mars, a male in his mid-to-late thirties who specializes in human trafficking. Of all the names they could've used, did they have to go with that one? That's just cruel. "The Sara-Grissom story line is going to conclude," Jonathan Littman, an executive producer for Jerry Bruckheimer's production house, tells the Orlando Sentinel. "Don't take it in that definitive term," he adds. "It's very smartly done." Littman also teases "a big story-line finish at the start of the season," one that will play out for a few episodes.<br /><br />Other scoopy bits from the Bruckheimer exec:<br /><br />• With Poppy Montgomery expecting, Without a Trace will probably make Samantha pregnant as well. "There's no reason not to," says Littman. "It's interesting for a single FBI agent who has dated two men in the office. [And] she was in bed with a [never identified] guy at the end of the season.
